We gather newly rising and long-lasting memes. We don't judge — we show them as-is. The interpretation is up to you.
The counterpart to "Youngkeukeu" -- a self-deprecating term older generations use to describe themselves as people who still remember old songs and culture.
Getting excessively emotionally invested in something, like a drama or webtoon, to the point of confusing it with reality. Often used self-deprecatingly.
Short for "this life has failed" — a self-deprecating lament about one's life going badly.
Short for "they abbreviate even the most trivial things" -- a self-aware jab at Korea's excessive abbreviation culture that ironically abbreviates its own criticism.
Short for "a disaster you brought on yourself," used when someone's own choices cause their misfortune.
Short for "culturally clueless" (문화 찐따), used for someone out of touch with trending content. Often used self-deprecatingly, as in "I don't know any recent songs, am I munjjin?"
A humorous meme blaming every bit of bad luck or misfortune on actor Cha Eun-woo, spread mainly on X (formerly Twitter).
A self-mocking phrase for being hooked on overstimulating content; also used as an exclamation ("dopamine's popping!") for something fun.
Short for "Young Creator Crew," the title of a song by boy group CORTIS. Originally meaning "a group of young creators," it's now used to mean "trendy" or "in tune with current vibes." The opposite, "Neulkeukeu/Olkeukeu" (Old Creator Crew), emerged as self-deprecating humor among office workers in their 20s-30s joking "I'm not YCC anymore, I'm OCC." It spread from K-pop fandom during the song's February 2026 pre-release to mainstream variety show subtitles. Part of the appeal is that "creator crew" sounds like "keukeu" (ㅋㅋ), the Korean text for laughter.
